Colin, 140.5 pounds, a recent signee with Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions, rallied after a slow start to win by scores of 96-94, 96-94, 95-95. After trailing early, the 24-year-old Colin switched to a left-handed stance in round four and got back into the fight.
Even while he fought as a lefty, Colin was always right in front of Stewart, 142.25 pounds, standing toe-to-toe and coming out ahead in the exchanges. Stewart also suffered from cuts around the eyes caused by a headbutt.
The win moves Colin to 22-3-3, 19 K0s. The 29-year-old Stewart falls to 41-6-2, 23 K0s.

Unheralded Enrique Colin, of Guasave, Mexico, knocked Mike Stewart out of a big summer fight with Arturo Gatti when he earned a 10-round majority decision over Stewart before a standing-room-only crowd.
